Clear Aligners vs. Traditional Braces
Clear aligners and traditional braces both deliver excellent results, but they work differently. Metal and ceramic braces use brackets bonded to your teeth and connected by wires to apply pressure. Clear aligners use a series of custom-molded plastic trays that gradually shift your teeth into alignment. The biggest differences come down to visibility, comfort, and lifestyle. Clear aligners are nearly invisible, removable for eating and brushing, and require fewer office visits. Braces may be better suited for more complex orthodontic cases. Who Is a Candidate for Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners work well for patients with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, and crossbite issues. Both teens and adults are excellent candidates. Patients who need significant jaw correction or have severely rotated teeth may benefit more from braces.
